Man Kills Mother-In-Law In Fake Road Accident For Rs.60 Lakh Insurance Amount In Siddipet
Venkatesh hatched a plan to kill Ramamma to get the insurance amount and discussed it with Karunakar: Police
Hyderabad: The death of a 60-year-old differently abled woman T Ramamma in a hit-and-run case at Pedda Masanpalle in Siddipet on June 7 turned out to be a murder as her son-in-law T Venkatesh killed her with the help of his friend T Karunakar on July 7 using an SUV.
Venkatesh (32), a farmer, killed Ramamma, a resident of KCR Nagar in Siddipet, for Rs.60 lakh insurance money, Siddipet Police Commissioner B Anuradha told media persons on Saturday. The police arrested Venkatesh and his friend Karunakar (29), both residents of Pedda Masanpalle.
According to Anuradha, Venkatesh gave Rs.1.30 lakh to Karunakar as loan. He later suffered losses to the tune of Rs.22 lakh in the poultry business and farming. Ramamma’s husband Rangaiah availed accidental insurance of Rs.15 lakh at the Siddipet post office and another insurance policy of Rs.40 lakh at a nationalized bank in the district.
Venkatesh’s wife is the nominee in the insurance documents. Moreover, Ramamma would also get Rs.5 lakh Rythu Bhima amount. Believing that the total insurance amount to the tune of Rs.60 lakh to get to his wife, Venkatesh hatched a plan to kill Ramamma to get the amount and discussed it with Karunakar.
He also promised Karunakar that if he assists him in the crime he would waive off Rs.1.30 lakh taken from him, apart from giving 50 per cent share in the total insurance amount. After Karunakar gave his consent, Venkatesh asked him to first hit Ramamma using a car and later enact it as a hit-and-run case informing the police that she died in the accident.
Venkatesh also hired a SUV for executing his plan. According to his plan, Venkatesh took Ramamma to Pedda Masanpalle on the pretext of signing a few documents to get an electric pole for her agricultural land. He asked her to sit near Pedda Masanpalle road so that he would return in a few minutes after checking water in the agricultural land.
Karunakar then hit Ramamma with the SUV and made a WhatsApp call informing that he killed her and crosscheck it. After confirming that Ramamma died on the spot, the SUV was returned to the owner and informed the police that his mother-in-law died in the road accident.
The police booked the case and verified the footage of surveillance cameras installed near the spot. They then detained Venkatesh and grilled him. He admitted to the crime, informing that he killed Ramamma for an insurance amount.
