Man Killed For Opposing Affair Between Dad, Wife; 5 Arrested

Police have solved the suspicious death of a 36-year-old man in Laxmipur village of Ramadugu mandal in Karimnagar district, revealing it to be a premeditated murder

KARIMNAGAR: Police have solved the suspicious death of a 36-year-old man in Laxmipur village of Ramadugu mandal in Karimnagar district, revealing it to be a premeditated murder. Five persons, including the victim’s father and wife, along with three contract killers, were arrested in connection with the case.

Investigation revealed that the victim was allegedly murdered after he objected to an illicit relationship between his father and wife.
Disclosing details to the media, Karimnagar rural assistant commissioner of police G. Vijay Kumar said the deceased was identified as Gade Anjaiah. The arrested accused were named as his father Gade Lachhaiah, 63; his wife Shirisha, 32; supari gang members Upparpally Koteshwar, 31, and Mohammad Abrar, 23; and mediator Kolipaka Ravi, 55.
According to police, Lachhaiah was allegedly in an extramarital relationship with his daughter-in-law Shirisha. After returning from abroad in 2019, Anjaiah discovered the affair and confronted them. Viewing him as an obstacle, the father and wife allegedly conspired to eliminate him. Lachhaiah reportedly agreed to pay ₹3 lakh as supari through mediator Ravi to hire the killers.
Police said the hired assailants befriended Anjaiah over several days to gain his confidence. On December 2, they allegedly took him to an isolated area near a canal on the pretext of consuming alcohol. After he became heavily intoxicated, Koteshwar allegedly strangled Anjaiah while Abrar restrained him. The body was later dumped into the canal to make the murder appear accidental.
The body was recovered by police on December 5. Initially, the family attempted to portray the death as accidental drowning. However, investigators grew suspicious due to the behaviour of Lachhaiah and Shirisha during questioning. During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to their roles in the crime.
Police seized ₹40,000 in cash, a motorcycle, and mobile phones used in the commission of the offence.
ACP Vijay Kumar commended the Ramadugu police team for promptly cracking the case.
