Man Hospitalised After Following VRK Diet
The complainant approached Raidurgam police on September 24, following which a case was registered. Police have issued summons to Veeramachaneni Ramakrishna and are investigating the allegations.
Hyderabad: Cyberabad police have registered a case against Veeramachaneni Ramakrishna, popularly known as VRK, following a complaint by a 30-year-old man who fell seriously ill after following the VRK diet.
According to the police, the complainant, a resident of Nirmal, has diabetes and was taking insulin. He came across advertisements claiming that diabetes could be cured through the VRK diet and so, he approached VRK.
The complainant joined the diet programme on September 12 after paying Rs.26,000. Two days later, on September 14, he developed severe dehydration and was admitted to a hospital. His hospital bill was around Rs.58,000, according to the complaint.
