Nalgonda: A 40-year-old man was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment for sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl in Khammam district, police said on Wednesday. Khammam Rural ACP B. Thirupathi Reddy said the convict, Boinapally Veera Babu, was booked by Khammam rural police after he allegedly sexually assaulted the minor girl on May 28, 2023.
Police filed a chargesheet in court based on scientific evidence and witness statements. First Additional District and Sessions Judge B. Srinivas Rao found Veera Babu guilty and sentenced him to seven years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹50,000.
