Man Gets 23-Year Jail Term, Life Imprisonment In Second Pocso Case
Khayyum was serving the 51-year sentence since August 27, 2025. In the second case, the court found him guilty and sentenced him to 23 years’ imprisonment under the POCSO Act and life imprisonment under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
NALGONDA: Nalgonda Pocso Fast Track Court on Thursday sentenced Mohammed Khayyum to 23 years’ imprisonment in a case involving the kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor tribal girl and life imprisonment under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act in the same case.
Khayyum had earlier been sentenced to 51 years’ imprisonment by the court on August 27, 2025, in another case involving sexual assault of the same tribal minor girl within the limits of Thipparthy police station in December 2021.
After his arrest in the first case, Khayyum was sent to judicial remand. After coming out of jail, he allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted the same girl again in 2022 and sexually assaulted her while she was on her way to college in Nalgonda, police said. Nalgonda Town-II police registered a case under the POCSO Act and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
