Man Gets 20 Yrs' RI in POCSO Case

In addition to the 20-year jail term, judge T. Srinivas imposed a fine of Rs 3,000 on the convict and awarded rupees three lakh as compensation to the victim.

Hyderabad:A special court to try Pocso cases at Rajendranagar sentenced a 42-year-old man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) in a rape case registered by the Gachibowli police in 2023.

In addition to the 20-year jail term, judge T. Srinivas imposed a fine of Rs 3,000 on the convict and awarded rupees three lakh as compensation to the victim.

The investigation was carried out by an ACP-rank officer of the Madhapur division and subsequently handled by another officer of the same rank.

The prosecution was represented by special public prosecutor B. Venkateshwar Reddy. Gachibowli police officials said the conviction was secured following the investigation and trial in the case.
