Man Gets 2 Months Imprisonment for Harassing Elderly Parents in Narayanguda

Hyderabad: A local court here has sentenced a 44-year-old man to two months of imprisonment for harassing and ill-treating his elderly parents within the limits of Naryanguda police station.
According to the police, the accused G. Srinivas had been constantly harassing his aged parents. Based on a complaint received from the aggrieved parents, Naryanguda police registered a case against him under Section 70B of the City Police (CP) Act, and Section 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Narayanguda Sub-Inspector J. Srikanth Reddy conducted a thorough probe, collected strong evidence, and produced Srinivas before the Fifth Special Judicial Magistrate Court at Nampally here.
Upon pursuing the case facts and evidence, the Judge, M. Bhasker, held Srinivas, a private employee, guilty of the offence and sentenced him to undergo two months of jail terms along with a fine of Rs.50.
The Naryanguda police re-iterated its commitment to protecting senior citizens and warned that strict legal action will be initiated against anyone found harassing or abandoning their elderly parents, said Inspector M. Saideshwar.
