Man Claiming Ex-OSD to Abdul Kalam Dupes Job Aspirant in Hyderabad
Hussain started to ignore the complainant’s call and later began to threaten to kill him with his political connections in Delhi for asking to repay the amount

Hyderabad: An aspirant of Group-I exam was duped by a person claiming to be the former Officer of Special Duty (OSD) for former President Abdul Kalam and promised to provide him a government job. He took Rs.6 lakh from the aspirant and allegedly cheated him. The aspirant lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police.
In his complaint, Voruganti Abhiram of Kothapet said that he was an aspirant of Telangana State Group-I and Group-II examinations, and was preparing for these examinations since 2018. In September 2022, he met Syed Hyder Hussain in connection with some other land related issues and other work.
Hussain introduced himself as former OSD to Kalam and showed him pictures. He claimed that he has connections in Delhi with all the politicians and it’s easy for him to get a government job. From October 2022 to January 2023, he took almost Rs.6lakh from the complainant at Banjara Hills, Lakdi-ka-Pul, Masab Tank, Mehdipatnam and Nampally.
The job notification was cancelled twice in between 2022 and 2025 due to paper leakage. In July 2025, the complainant asked him to confirm about the job and the process to be done. Hussain again took Rs.1 lakh towards other expenses. The complainant started behaving in a strange for repeatedly asking him for the delay in getting the job.
Hussain started to ignore the complainant’s call and later began to threaten and kill him with his political connections in Delhi for asking to repay the amount. Based on the complaint, the police booked a case under Sections 316(2), 318(4) and 351(2) of BNS and took up investigation.
