Mallampalli Declared Mandal After 100-Day Protest
Warangal: The Congress government fulfilled a long-standing demand by forming Mallampalli as a separate mandal in Mulugu district. The Mallampalli Mandal Sadhana Samithi Joint Action Committee (MSS-JAC) thanked panchayat raj minister Seethakka for her efforts in releasing the government order (G.O.) to this effect.
The movement for mandal status began in 2014, led by MSS-JAC president G. Raju, former sarpanch Golconda Ravi, and Chanda Kumar. Protests intensified when the BRS government's list of new mandals excluded Mallampalli, prompting a 100-day campaign of road blockades, rallies, and demonstrations.
Minister Seethakka renewed her commitment to the cause ahead of the 2023 Assembly elections, vowing to name the mandal after late BRS leader Kusuma Jagadish, a Mallampalli resident and key supporter of the movement. Within its first year, the Congress government delivered on this promise, issuing a gazette to formally establish Mallampalli as JD Mallampalli mandal.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and minister Seethakka were praised for their roles in realising the aspirations of Mallampalli residents.
