Sircilla Furniture Godown Catches Fire, Worker Dies
Preliminary reports suggest that furniture worth around Rs 80 lakh was gutted in the fire.

Sircilla: A major fire broke out at Mahalakshmi Furniture godown shortly after midnight on Tuesday near Peddur, Sircilla. According to reports, a worker identified as Mohammad Islam, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was charred to death in the incident.
Three other workers from Uttar Pradesh who were sleeping inside the godown noticed the flames, rushed outside, and were reportedly safe.
Preliminary reports suggest that furniture worth around Rs 50 lakh was gutted in the fire.
Locals who noticed heavy flames and thick smoke emanating from the godown alerted the police and fire personnel. Three fire engines were pressed into service to bring the blaze under control. Police suspect that a short circuit may have caused the fire.
The owner of the godown said that they had recently started the furniture godown-cum-store. He stated that the rear portion of the premises was safe and urged the government to support and conduct an inquiry into what might have led to the accident.
