Maize Crop Gutted in Fire Triggered by Short Circuit in Warangal
Agriculture Market Committee chairman Palayi Srinivas said the losses would be brought to the notice of the state government and assured that efforts would be made to ensure compensation to affected farmers

WARANGAL: Standing maize crop over several acres was destroyed in a fire triggered by an electric short circuit at Mudu Chekkalapalli village in Nallabelli mandal of Narsampet constituency in Warangal district.
Following the incident, Narsampet MLA Donthi Madhava Reddy directed officials to inspect the site. Agriculture Market Committee chairman Palayi Srinivas, along with agriculture and revenue officials, visited the village and assessed the damage.
Officials interacted with affected farmers and assured that the losses would be reported to the government. Srinivas directed officials to prepare a detailed report on crop and property loss to facilitate compensation.
A farmer said, “We have lost everything to this fire,” and urged the authorities to expedite financial assistance to clear debts and prepare for the next season.
Srinivas said the losses would be brought to the notice of the state government and assured that efforts would be made to ensure compensation to affected farmers. He also urged the electricity department to inspect local lines to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
Agriculture and revenue officials were present during the inspection.
