Maintain Records on Health Conditions of Students: TEC Member Tells Residential Schools’ Principals

Suryapet: Telangana Education Commission (TEC) member Ch Venkatesh on Sunday directed principals of government residential schools to maintain a record on the health condition of the students.

He was speaking after a surprise visits to the Social Welfare Residential School at Imampet, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas at Suryapet and Minorities Welfare Residential School at Kodad, where he examined the quality of the food being served to students.

Venkatesh inquired with the students whether the food was as per the menu or not. He also examined the storeroom and kitchens.

Venkatesh directed the principals to conduct special classes for Class 10 students in the evenings to prepare them for the board examinations. He instructed auxiliary nurse midwives posted in at schools to maintain a record on the health of the students. He underlined the need to be alert at the time of outbreak of seasonal diseases.

Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy, who was accompanying Venkatesh, said that study tours would be conducted to Ramappa temple in Warangal for the students of residential schools. He positively responded to the requests of the students to organise study tours.
