Warangal: Mahabubabad SP Sudheer Ramnath Kekan on Tuesday warned sand mafia to stop illegal excavation and transportation of sand, failing which strict action will be taken against them.
The warning came following an order from Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy to curb illegal sand mining in the state and ensure free sand supply for Indiramma houses.
The SP along with other officials visited sand ramps at Chinna Gudur, Mangimadugu, Kousalya Devi Palli and Komulavancha areas in the district.
He directed authorities to compile a list of individuals involved in illegal sand mining regardless of their professions or backgrounds and emphasised that unlawful sand mining will not be tolerated.
“We are giving you a final chance to reform. Cease illegal sand transportation immediately, or we will take stringent legal action. If you continue your illegal activities, we will ensure you face severe punishment under the law,” the SP warned.
