Bhu Bharati Registrations Halted in Mahabubabad for 2 Weeks

The disruption has affected registration services at most of the district’s 18 tahsildar offices and has also halted fee revenue for the Telangana state government. On average, each tahsildar office handled around four to five registrations daily, amounting to nearly 70 transactions across the district every day.

Applicants who had booked slots for registrations have since been making repeated visits to tahsildar offices. They state that there has been no clarity on when normal operations will restart. The prolonged disruption has also discouraged people from booking fresh slots, resulting in a loss of registration fee revenue for the government.

To prevent disruption, the government provided technical training to junior assistants in all 18 mandals of the district to handle slot booking, entering land details, transfer of rights, sale and purchase transactions, inheritance, mortgages and other Bhu Bharati services.

As government employees will now operate the system, officials can also be held directly accountable in cases of irregularities or errors. However, delays in issuing Bhu Bharati login IDs to the trained junior assistants have prevented services from restarting, causing inconvenience to citizens and delays in the registration process and revenue loss for the government.
