Maha Shivaratri: Night Travel Allowed Through Amrabad Reserve
Night travel is not allowed in the reserve to protect wildlife

Hyderabad: The Amrabad Tiger Reserve in Telangana will allow vehicles to pass through it during night for five days, from February 25 to March 1 for Maha Shivaratri.
A special arrangement to this effect was made for devotees traveling to famous Srisailam temple for Maha Shivaratri. The festival attracts thousands of pilgrims and the relaxation will help them reach the temple more easily.
Night travel is not allowed in the reserve to protect wildlife. The road passing through the reserve, between Mannanur and Domalapenta villages, near the Krishna river is closed during night.
But for Maha Shivaratri, the forest department has made an exception and will keep the road open from 9 pm to 6 am for five days.
Officials have instructed travelers not to walk on the road or take shortcuts through the forest as these are protected areas. All vehicles must follow a speed limit of 30 km per hour.
Stopping on the road is not allowed, people can stop at the check post only. Drivers should be careful as wild animals may cross at night.
The forest department has increased security and patrolling to make sure that no one disturbs the wildlife. After March 1, regular night travel restrictions will be back in place.
