Madiga MLAs Demand Cabinet Berth

Meenakshi Natarajan meets Congress MLAs, addresses Madiga community's call for representation

Hyderabad: AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan on Wednesday urged Congress MLAs and senior leaders in Telangana to exercise patience amid speculation over a possible cabinet expansion. She held review meetings on Wednesday with MLAs and senior TPCC leaders from several parliamentary constituencies, including Malkajgiri, Secunderabad, Adilabad and Medak.

The interactions were triggered after Madiga community MLAs demanded greater representation in the cabinet. Several legislators reportedly requested the AICC leadership to allot ministerial berths to members of the Madiga community and conveyed their plans to raise the matter with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge.

During the meetings, Natarajan also advised MLAs and party leaders to step up efforts in promoting the Congress government’s welfare programmes. She encouraged them to organise events and outreach activities at the village level to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the grassroots across their respective constituencies.
