Love Tragedy Claims 2 Lives In Hayathnagar

As per preliminary investigation, both the families were aware of the relationship and objected to their marriage as the girl was a minor: Reports

HYDERABAD: In a tragic love relationship, a 21-year-old autorickshaw driver died by suicide on Tuesday morning in Hayatnagar, hours after his teenage

lover was found dead by suicide.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Siddagoni Mahesh, 21, a resident of Medipally village in Yacharam mandal. Mahesh ended his life at around 11 am at Jana Chaitanya Venture in
Brahmanapalli village.

Police said the incident followed the death by suicide of a 16-year-old girl, a relative of Mahesh, with whom he has been in a relationship for past four months on January 6, reportedly unable to cope with emotional stress after her family opposed the relationship and marriage proposal.

As per preliminary investigation, both the families were aware of the relationship and objected to their marriage as the girl was a minor. The couple reportedly attempted death by suicide earlier also but survived after timely treatment in a hospital.

It is stated that Mahesh allegedly called the girl a day before her death, insisting on marriage and threatening to end his life if she refused. This may have added to the mental pressure she was already facing. After learning about the girl’s death, Mahesh reportedly slipped into severe depression and ended his life the following morning.

A complaint was lodged by Mahesh’s father, Jangaiah following which a case was registered. Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain all circumstances leading to the deaths.
