Lorry Drags Man After Hitting Moped; Victim’s Body Mutilated
Preliminary investigations indicate that over-speeding and negligent driving by the lorry driver led to the accident.
Khammam: In a tragic road accident on Friday, a speeding lorry hit a TVS moped at Rangambajara in Thallada mandal, dragging the rider for nearly 100 metres before coming to a halt. The victim, identified as Boggula Venkat Reddy (45) from Thallada, died on the spot.
According to police, the lorry rammed into Venkat Reddy’s moped from behind and dragged both the rider and the vehicle along the road, causing fatal injuries. His body, which was severely mutilated, was shifted to the Government General Hospital in Khammam for postmortem.
Preliminary investigations indicate that over-speeding and negligent driving by the lorry driver led to the accident. The Thallada police have registered a case and taken the driver into custody for further investigation.
