Lorry Carrying Cement Bags Plunges from ORR in Shamshabad; Driver Injured

The incident occurred when the lorry was heading towards Tuljapur in Maharashtra from Kodad in Suryapet

Hyderabad: A lorry loaded with cement bags fell from the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Shamshabad on Thursday morning.

The lorry driver escaped with injuries. The incident occurred when the lorry bearing registration number TG29T3688 was heading towards Tuljapur in Maharashtra from Kodad in Suryapet. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police rushed to the spot after receiving a call to Dial 100.




A police patrolling vehicle shifted the 40-year-old lorry driver Illaiah to a nearby private hospital where his condition is said to be stable. According to preliminary information, the accident could have been caused when the driver dozed off at the wheel and drove the lorry hitting the railing. As a result, the vehicle overturned and fell down in bushes on the service road.
