London Businessman Returns to Balapur Laddu Auction, Ready for Rs.40 Lakh Bid
Nine new members have registered to participate in this year's auction, adding to the competition among bidders seeking to win the coveted laddu.
Hyderabad: London-based businessman Dayanand Reddy is participating in the Balapur Ganesh laddu auction. Dayanand Reddy who owns a company in London and runs 37 restaurants in the city, said he had participated in the auction last year as well.
He had bid Rs.34.75 lakh in last year's auction. This year, Dayanand Reddy said that he is prepared to bid up to Rs.40 lakh and expressed hope that he would win the laddu auction.
Reddy said he had wanted to participate in the laddu auction since he started his business. He added that participating in the auction has been a long-standing wish and that he was happy to take part again this year.
The Balapur Ganesh laddu auction began at 9.30 am on Thursday. The auction attracts large crowds every year, with devotees and bidders gathering to participate in the event.
