Local Body Polls: Tight Security for First Phase Voting Today in Bodhan

Nizamabad:The first phase of the Grama Panchayat elections is held in Bodhan division on Thursday, with polling personnel reaching the villages a day in advance.
With a night’s halt on Wednesday, the polling personnel would conduct the polling from 7am December 11. After completion of the polling, the counting of votes starts at 2pm.
Police commissioner Sai Chaitanya inspected the polling booths in Bodhan division. He visited the Salura distribution centre in Bodhan mandal, as well as the polling centres at Jadi Jamalpur, Salura camp and Salura.
He said the police department has made tight security arrangements for the first phase of the voting. Strong police bandobast and security measures have been in place at all polling booths within the Bodhan division.
The commissioner issued instructions on the security precautions to be followed during the elections and on maintaining public peace and order. Strict surveillance should be maintained to prevent any untoward activities, group gatherings, inducements, or intimidation near the polling centres.
Additional security personnel have been deployed at high-priority and sensitive polling stations. Section 163 BNSS is in force within 100 metres around the polling stations. Assembly of more than four persons would not be allowed around the polling centres.
