Leaders React to Pradhan’s Exit, Call It ‘Victory for Youth’
KTR, BRS and Congress leaders hail resignation amid NEET row; credit student protests
Hyderabad: Political leaders across parties reacted to the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, calling it a victory for students and youth-led protests across the country.
BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) took to X, stating, “Power of people is always greater than the people in power,” adding a “Gen Z” sign-off.
Senior BRS leader and Former Minister T. Harish Rao described the development as a “major victory for the country’s youth,” saying “the vibe shift is real.”
From the Congress,Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the resignation reflects the strength of united student protests across the country, terming it not just an individual’s exit but a moment where “arrogant politics bowed before student power.” He also attributed the development to sustained pressure from the opposition, particularly Rahul Gandhi.
Meanwhile, Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy called it the “beginning of the end” of the NDA government, stating that youth protests forced the government to act. He termed the resignation a “massive victory” for students and warned of further political repercussions ahead of the 2029 elections.
The reactions come amid ongoing protests over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination, with opposition parties and student groups demanding accountability and reforms in the education system.
