Nizamabad: The last rites of 29-year-old Army jawan Sachin Yadavrao Vananje, a native of Tamlur village in Nanded district, Maharashtra, were performed with full state honours in Degloor town on Friday. Sachin was one of three soldiers who lost their lives after their vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district on Sunday.

The Indian Army paid tribute with a ceremonial gun salute during the funeral. Large numbers of residents, elected representatives and district officials participated in the final rites, which saw the mortal remains taken out in procession through the main streets of Degloor.
Sachin’s wife Madhura, his eight-month-old daughter, parents and other family members attended the funeral, their grief shared by the community. The funeral procession echoed with chants of "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and "Sachin Amar Rahe" as mourners waved the national flag and carried Sachin’s portrait. Indian Army personnel, police officers and local citizens took part in the funeral proceedings. The officials interacted with the bereaved family and assured them of all possible support from the government.
Sachin, who served as a driver in the Indian Army, hailed from Tamlur village in Degloor taluka, though his family has been residing in Degloor town for several years. His sacrifice has been widely mourned across Maharashtra and neighbouring Telangana, with people lauding his service and bravery.
