Land Survey Begins Near KCR’s Farmhouse At Erravalli

“Officials noticed that 388 acres of government land in Survey No. 325 formed one compact parcel. A further inquiry will be conducted to establish whether these land parcels have been encroached upon,” sources said

Siddipet: Revenue, land and survey officials on Thursday launched an extensive survey to ascertain the alleged possession of 388 acres of government land by BRS supremo and former chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in Erravalli in Sangareddy district.

The exercise, which is likely to continue for another two weeks, was taken up following Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s announcement in the Assembly that he would reclaim 388 acres allegedly encroached upon by Chandrashekar Rao as part of his Erravelli farmhouse and distribute the land to poor Dalit families.

Revenue divisional officer Chandrakala, land and survey department assistant director R. Sudarshan, tahsildars, revenue inspectors and other staff visited Erravalli as part of the survey. “Officials noticed that 388 acres of government land in Survey No. 325 formed one compact parcel. A further inquiry will be conducted to establish whether these land parcels have been encroached upon,” sources said.

The officials did not enter Chandrashekhar Rao’s farmhouse. Measurements will be made in and around Erravalli. Initially, officials verified the boundaries of the government land. “The delineation of assigned and patta lands will be taken up, and this will bring the alleged encroachment to light,” a senior officer said on condition of anonymity.

Additional staff were assigned to conduct land measurements in Erravalli, where Chandrashekar Rao regularly stays.

Officials in Markuk mandal of Siddipet district were alerted about a joint inspection by government departments into the alleged encroachment of assigned lands.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, a senior official in Siddipet district said that, in accordance with the directives of higher authorities, officials had intensified their inquiry into the landholdings. A section of people was reportedly not cooperating with the official teams investigating complaints of encroachment on assigned lands.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Siddipet district collector K. Haimavathi said that a land survey had begun in Erravalli on Thursday. “It would take 10 to 15 days to complete the survey,” she said.

The 388 acres of government land in Survey No. 325 would be thoroughly assessed and a report submitted, she explained. Officials from the land and survey department were at the site, while revenue officials were assisting them in completing the work at the earliest, she said.
