Lambadila Aikya Vedika Demands Official State Status and Public Holiday for Haryali Teej
JNTU students organisation convener Rahul Naik sought support that is extended for Ramzan, Christmas and Bathukamma for Haryali Teej, which is considered one of the most important festivals of the Lambada community.β

Hyderabad:Lambadila Aikya Vedika on Wednesday urged the government to accord official recognition to Haryali Teej, declare a public holiday for the festival and distribute traditional mirror work Lambada dresses to girls from the community.
JNTU students organisation convener Rahul Naik sought support that is extended for Ramzan, Christmas and Bathukamma for Haryali Teej, which is considered one of the most important festivals of the Lambada community.β
He requested the government to officially celebrate the festival every year and declare a public holiday on August 24. He also urged the state to include Haryali Teej in the 2027 government holiday calendar.
The organisation also suggested that, as Amavasya falls on August 12 this year, Teej Boyero be observed on August 15, while areas following the Chuto Kadav tradition may conduct the ritual on August 23.
