Kurchi Tata Dies After Collapsing at Park

Admirers and social media users expressed grief, remembering Pasha for his unique humour, candid style and that unforgettable dialogue which became part of Telugu popular culture and is played at every event and pub.

Hyderabad: Mohammad Pasha, widely known on social media as 'kurchi tata' for his viral catchphrase 'kurchi madata petti' in a song featuring Mahesh Babu, died after reportedly collapsing during a walk at Krishna Kant Park. Madhuranagar police said the death is suspected to be due to sunstroke, which if confirmed could be the first sunstroke death in the state.

According to police, Pasha rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but doctors declared him dead. Police said preliminary findings pointed to suspected sunstroke.

Pasha had become a household name for his distinctive speaking style and the now-iconic dialogue 'kurchi madata petti,' which gained massive popularity a couple of years ago. The phrase became a viral sensation when a video of him circulated widely on social media during the tenure of a former DGP, who Pasha famously claimed was his classmate.

Pasha’s popularity later reached mainstream cinema when the phrase inspired the hit song ‘Kurchi Madathapetti’ in the Telugu film ‘Guntur Karam’ starring Mahesh Babu.
