Kuntala, Pochera And Tumpelli Roar Back To Life As Monsoon Fills Telangana's Famous Falls

Steady monsoon rains have revived Telangana's iconic waterfalls, drawing tourists to Kuntala, Pochera and Tumpelli.

Two days of incessant rain has revived the famous waterfalls at Kuntala, Pocherla and Tumpelli which is drawing tourists despite the drizzle that continued through the day on Thursday.

Kuntala, believed to be Telangana’s highest waterfall, and Pochera, known for its broad rocky spread, are especially scenic, while Tumpelli’s rush of water through the forested landscape adds to the charm. Thanks to social media, these destinations have turned out to become major tourist attractions.

With the rain easing, families, youngsters and photography lovers walked up to the viewpoints, umbrellas in hand, to watch the waterfalls. Many said the drizzle actually enhanced the experience, giving the forest a fresh green sheen and making the rushing water appear brighter and more dramatic.

Shruti, a visitor from Hyderabad, said the falls looked “alive again” after the long dry spell, while a tourist from Mudhole noted that the monsoon has transformed the entire belt into a getaway. Local guides said the steady inflow of water had brought back the festive atmosphere around the viewpoints.

Forest and local officials , continued to caution tourists to stay away from unsafe edges and slippery rocks. With rain still lingering over the region, the waterfalls remain a major attraction.
