Kumaram Bheem Asifabad: A man carried his elderly, ailing mother on his shoulders to cross a swollen stream in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district on Monday.
According to reports, the incident occurred at Anarpalli Vagu near Borilalguda village in Kerameri mandal. A youth identified as Ramdas carried his mother, Duribai, who was suffering from fever, on his shoulders and waded through waist-deep water to cross the flooded stream, as there was no safe alternative route.
Locals have repeatedly demanded the construction of a bridge or an alternative crossing to ensure safe movement during the monsoon, but the lack of infrastructure continues to put residents at risk during heavy rains.
