Hyderabad: Police on Tuesday detained a suspect in connection with the murder of a 10-year-old girl in Kukatpally. According to reports, he is being questioned.
The girl, a Class 6 student, was found dead on a cot in her house with multiple stab wounds. She was alone at home as schools were closed for a holiday when the incident occurred.
A senior police official said that around 1.10 p.m. on Monday, Kukatpally Police received a Dial-100 call about the incident. A police team rushed to the spot.
The girl’s parents told police that they had left for work around 9 a.m. after sending their son to school. When the father returned home at 12.30 p.m. to collect a lunchbox for his son, he found his daughter dead.
