KTR Warns Congress: Don't Abolish Districts Or Face Protests

HYDERABAD: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Monday warned of protests if the state government abolished any of the existing districts, and that the Congress would have to face the wrath of the people if it modified any district.
Addressing a party meeting in Mahbubnagar, Rama Rao said the Congress government clearly did not want administration and services to be available to people easily which was why it was talking about reorganising the districts.
“Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy says that district reorganisation by the BRS government was unscientific. This is just an excuse to undo what the BRS government did to take administration to the people. The Congress government, which has failed to implement any of its promises, does not want to be questioned by the people,” he said.
Rama Rao warned that the BRS would not allow even a single change to any district and the government would face if it went ahead with the decision. “The BRS will lead this fight against the government and ensure that people do not lose the accessibility to government that was brought about by the BRS government,” he said.
