Hyderabad:AP BJP Rajya Sabha member R. Krishnaiah asked the Telangana government to not increase the retirement age of government employees from 61 to 63 or 65 years, stating that it would deny unemployed youth about 40,000 jobs.
Speaking at a meeting of the Unemployed Associations JAC, led by chairman Neela Venkatesh, Krishnaiah said that not a single employee association had made any request for enhancing the retirement age. The government had already made a mistake by raising the retirement age to 61 years, he said. He also demanded that the government increase the Group I, Group II and Group III posts so that the 16 lakh unemployed persons in the state would get more opportunities.
