Hyderabad:The dropping of endowment minister Konda Surekha from the Cabinet had vindicated his party’s claims that a “corruption raj” was in operation in the state, BJP Telangana president N. Ramachander Rao said on Thursday. Her daughter Sushmita’s exposure of unbridled graft had forced Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy drop Surekha from the Cabinet, Rao claimed.
In a statement, Rao stated that it was not the Opposition but ministers who had been openly admitting that a ‘30 per cent commission rule’ was prevailing in the state. Group wars and internal rifts had been leading to action being taken against Congress leaders, Rao said and predicted that more issues of corruption would come out in the near future.
“Rahul Gandhi’s tall claims of empowerment are not matched by the real actions of the Congress,” he said on dropping a woman minister. He noted that there were no woman ministers in the Congress governments in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh. “The developments have clearly exposed the real face of Congress,” Rao said.
Rao dubbed as speculative, reports that Surekha could join the BJP. He said the party central leadership would decide on admitting anyone into the party.
