Kodad Police Arrest 6 For Encashing CMRF Cheques Illegally
Naresh had earlier worked as a social media coordinator in the office of BRS leader Bollam Mallaiah when he was the MLA of Kodad. Veerababu and Madhu also worked as his private personal assistants during that time.

Nalgonda: Kodad police arrested six persons for fraudulently encashing 36 cheques of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) and seized ₹9.3 lakh from their possession.
The arrested were identified as Chedapangu Naresh (30), Mara Veera Babu (34), Uppala Madhu (35), Suragani Rambabu (34), Gantuka Sandeep (34), and Rangamshetti Venkata Rao (30). Sandeep was working as an outsourcing computer operator in the Telangana State Legislative Council.
Naresh had earlier worked as a social media coordinator in the office of BRS leader Bollam Mallaiah when he was the MLA of Kodad. Veerababu and Madhu also worked as his private personal assistants during that time. These three were the kingpins of the entire scam, while the remaining three assisted them in encashing the CMRF cheques.
Presenting the accused at a media conference, Suryapet superintendent of police K. Narsimha informed that the six persons fraudulently encashed 36 CMRF cheques worth ₹13.6 lakh. The cheques were encashed by opening fake bank accounts under names similar to the actual beneficiaries. Naresh, Veerababu, and Madhu had handled CMRF-related matters in the office of MLA Bollam Mallaiah Yadav during his tenure from 2019 to 2023. They hatched a plan to fraudulently encash 44 CMRF cheques that were in their possession instead of distributing them to the beneficiaries.
Police also seized six undisbursed CMRF cheques from the accused. The SP clarified that the entire scam took place without the knowledge of Bollam Mallaiah Yadav.
