KNRUHS Releases NEET-UG State Ranks, Category-Wise Cut-Offs for MBBS Admissions

Hyderabad:The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) on Saturday released the NEET-UG state merit ranks for Telangana along with the category-wise qualifying cut-off marks for admissions into MBBS and BDS courses for 2026-27. The details have been uploaded on the university's official website. The top rankers, however, aimed for seats in national-level institutions
Veeriahgari Sahyu, who secured All India Rank (AIR) 13 in NEET-UG, emerged as the Telangana first ranker with a score of 705 followed by Bura Sai Sharan (AIR 19, score 701). Three students with the same score of 700 followed next: Kandagattla Haneesh (AIR 21); Andem Sai Charan Reddy (AIG 38) and Mayuk Jayasimha (42).

Veeriahgari Sahyu from Warangal in Telangana told Deccan Chronicle “I will be choosing AIIMS, Delhi. The best institution in the country as I have an opportunity.”
The university also announced the qualifying cut-off scores for different categories. The qualifying percentile for the general and EWS categories remained at the 50th percentile, while it was 40th percentile for students from the SC, ST and OBC communities.
For general/EWS-PwBD, the qualifying percentile was 45th; and 40th for SC/ST/OBC-PwBD candidates. The corresponding qualifying score ranges have also been notified by the university for the admission process.
Rutumbika Mohanty born in Telangana expressed that she wants to take neurosurgery in future. She would be the first MBBS student in the family. “The neurosurgery topic excites me. I am targeting JIPMER because for my rank I have fewer chances of getting (a seat) in Delhi.” She said she had spoken to family friends and seniors who had studied in JIPMER and found it had the best atmosphere for studies.
Mayuk Jayasimha from Hyderabad said that he wishes to study in AIIMS Delhi and was inspired by both his parents who are doctors.
