The Justice P.C. Ghose judicial commission of inquiry is all set to resume cross-examination of witnesses from February 27 and three officials of the irrigation department, including two who retired, are expected to be called for a second round of questioning.

Hyderabad:The Justice P.C. Ghose judicial commission of inquiry is all set to resume cross-examination of witnesses from February 27 and three officials of the irrigation department, including two who retired, are expected to be called for a second round of questioning.

It is learnt that the commission has identified inconsistencies in their previous depositions before it, and in the second round of questioning set to begin from Thursday next, they are likely to be asked to explain the inconsistencies in their statements and responses compared to documentary evidence related to Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme’s Medigadda barrage in particular, and also with respect to the barrages at Annaram and Sundilla.

It is also learnt that the commission, which received an extension from the government till end of this April, is likely to submit a report that could run into around 400 pages or more.

Though there was some speculation earlier that former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and former irrigation minister T Harish Rao may be called for cross-examination, it appears unlikely that the commission may do so at this point of time.
