Kishan Reddy Slams Congress, BRS

The minister appealed to citizens to remember the ideals for which the martyrs of the movement laid down their lives and to unite to protect Telangana’s rights and dignity.

Hyderabad: Union minister G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday accused the Congress government in Telangana of following the same path as the previous BRS administration by indulging in corruption, land deals and neglecting welfare. He said both parties had reduced the state to a “real estate business hub.”

In a statement issued on Telangana Formation Day, Kishan Reddy said the state was achieved through the struggle of millions and the sacrifices of hundreds of young activists, yet rulers over the past 12 years had betrayed public trust. He charged that during the decade‑long BRS rule, leaders duped people with the promise of a “Bangaru Telangana” while enriching a “bangaru family,” plundering resources and ignoring the movement’s core demands of water, funds and appointments.

“People hoped that electing Congress would bring relief from the arrogance and corrupt practices of the previous regime and deliver change to their lives,” he said. “But in the last two‑and‑a‑half years there is no sign of the promised change. The present government has brushed aside the aspirations of Telangana’s people and converted the state into a real estate trading hub.”

The minister appealed to citizens to remember the ideals for which the martyrs of the movement laid down their lives and to unite to protect Telangana’s rights and dignity. He stressed that the state was not formed to benefit a single family or a handful of business‑backed politicians, but to establish a democratic, socially just and prosperous Telangana.
