Kishan Reddy Invokes Ambedkar, Ravidas on Women’s Quota
Reddy urged BJP cadres to reach every Dalit colony, BC basti and village to spread Sant Ravidas’s message and dedicate themselves to serving the poor.

Hyderabad:Union minister G. Kishan Reddy said the Centre’s historic decision to provide 33 per cent reservation in Parliament and Assemblies for women’s empowerment was being obstructed by the Opposition, which went against the ideals of Dr B.R. Ambedkar and Sant Ravidas.
Speaking as chief guest at the 650th birth anniversary celebrations of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Maharaj at Exhibition Grounds on Sunday, Reddy praised Sant Ravidas as a towering figure who worked to bring social awakening and equality through the Bhakti movement. He said the saint’s message of social equality, delivered 650 years ago, remained a guiding light like the Bhagavad Gita.
Citing Ambedkar’s life, Reddy emphasised that greatness was not determined by birth, caste or wealth, but through thought, action and social service. He said the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi was governing with the spirit of Sant Ravidas’s ideals and the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.
He noted that revolutionary welfare schemes had lifted about 25 crore people out of poverty in the past 11 years. Achievements included construction of over 12 crore toilets under Swachh Bharat Mission, provision of drinking water through Har Ghar Jal, completion of 4 crore houses under PM Awas Yojana, and free rice and healthcare for crores of poor families.
Reddy urged BJP cadres to reach every Dalit colony, BC basti and village to spread Sant Ravidas’s message and dedicate themselves to serving the poor.
