Kishan Reddy Inspects Station Redevelopment Works in Mahbubnagar

Hyderabad:Union coal and mines minister G. Kishan Reddy inspected ongoing redevelopment works at Sri Bala Brahmeswara Jogulamba halt, Gadwal, Mahbubnagar and Jadcherla railway stations on Monday. He reviewed newly developed amenities including station buildings, platforms, foot overbridges, parking, circulating areas, lifts and lighting.
Addressing the media, Reddy said 40 railway stations across Telangana are being redeveloped as Amrit Stations at a cost of over ₹2,000 crore. The four stations inspected are being upgraded with a combined investment of ₹125.38 crore. Works at Jogulamba Halt are nearly complete, while those at Gadwal, Mahbubnagar and Jadcherla are progressing swiftly.
He said redeveloped stations will feature world‑class facilities such as upgraded waiting halls, booking counters, improved platforms, escalators, lifts, modern lighting, façade and parking. Reddy emphasised that Telangana’s railway infrastructure is witnessing rapid growth under the Union government, with projects worth nearly ₹50,000 crore underway, including new lines, doubling, tripling and quadrupling works.
He noted that 100 new passenger and express trains have been introduced in the state over the past decade. Three of the seven high‑speed rail corridors announced in the Union Budget will serve Telangana — Hyderabad–Chennai via Vijayawada, Hyderabad–Bengaluru and Hyderabad–Pune via Mumbai. Reddy described these elevated corridors as “game‑changers” that will boost connectivity, industry and ease traffic congestion in Hyderabad.
