Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay Slam Govt Over Temple Attack

Protecting people and their places of worship is a basic duty of any government: Kishan Reddy

HYDERABAD: Union ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Friday condemned the attack on the Santoshi Mata temple in Dilsukhnagar and accused the government of failing to protect Hindu temples and sentiments.

In a social media post, Kishan Reddy said attacks on temples and “appeasement politics” had become routine under the Congress dispensation. “I strongly condemn the latest attack on the Santoshi Mata temple in Dilsukhnagar. It is shameful that the Revanth Reddy government has not taken any action so far, even as temple attacks continue,” he said.

He alleged that the government had neglected temple security and law and order. “Protecting people and their places of worship is a basic duty of any government. Yet, even as such incidents keep recurring, the Revanth Reddy cabinet does not seem to care,” he said. He also cited Revanth Reddy’s remark that “Congress means Muslims and Muslims mean Congress”, saying such comments were fuelling anxiety among communities.

Kishan Reddy demanded that the government stop “vote‑bank and appeasement politics”, take responsibility for the deteriorating law and order situation, and apologise for failing to safeguard temples and Hindu sentiments. He urged strict punishment for the culprits.

Sanjay, in a separate post, described the incident as “outrageous and completely unacceptable”. He said he had spoken to the city police commissioner and demanded an immediate investigation and firm action. “The Congress government must ensure the security of temples and devotees. Incidents of this nature cannot be brushed aside every time,” he said.
