Kishan Faults Revanth for Trying To Split People Like Rahul

Kishan Reddy said there was a wide gap between the government’s promises and performance.

HYDERABAD: Union coal minister G. Kishan Reddy on Thursday accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of indulging in divisive politics and failing to implement the Congress government’s election promises.

Addressing a press conference, Kishan Reddy alleged that Revanth Reddy was competing with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in creating divisions on caste, religion, language and North-South lines. He also criticised the Chief Minister’s remarks on Lord Shiva and Lord Rama and accused him of trying to please the AIMIM leadership and the Congress high command.

Kishan Reddy said there was a wide gap between the government’s promises and performance. He criticised Revanth Reddy for describing himself as a loyalist of the Gandhi family, saying his commitment should instead be to Telangana and its people.

Accusing the government of failing to implement its six guarantees and other promises, he said the Chief Minister was raising controversies to divert attention from governance issues.

On delimitation, Kishan Reddy rejected Revanth Reddy’s proposal to link representation to GSDP, calling it impractical. He said the proposed increase in parliamentary seats would protect the interests of southern states and accused the Congress of creating unnecessary apprehensions.

On the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, he questioned Congress objections to deletion of ineligible names, including those of deceased persons and duplicate voters.

Kishan Reddy also questioned BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao over the boilers installed at the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant, asking why they were not designed to efficiently use Singareni coal.

On Khairatabad, he said the BJP was prepared for a bypoll and expressed confidence of winning the seat. He also accused successive Congress and BRS governments of encouraging defections.

Kishan Reddy said Union home minister Amit Shah would visit Telangana on October 3 and attend programmes, including one in Karimnagar, on October 4 before returning to Delhi.
