Killer of Minor Who Rejected Marriage Proposal Held

Hyderabad:Police teams have detected the sensational murder of 17-year-old Jagada Pavitra, who was murdered after she refused to marry the accused.

Pavitra, along with her parents Jagada Kantha Rao and Jagada Laxmi, had returned from Vijayawada on December 7. The next day, in the afternoon the accused in a drunken state murdered the victim for rejecting his marriage proposal and not informing him before she left for Vijayawada, Balaswamy said.

“Our special teams since the day of offence, the investigation officer along with his team followed the CCTV footages which resulted in fruitful information about the murderer Dukka Uma Shanker, 24, a tiles fitter. He was found moving towards Skandagiri Temple, Chilkalguda, where he was arrested”, the police officer said.

During interrogation, Uma Shanker revealed that after murdering Pavitra he had left his mobile phone and knife at the crime scene before fleeing.

Police seized Rs 1,10,000 cash, a smartphone, and debit cards from the accused. He has been produced before the court for judicial remand.

27-yr-old govt staffer dies in road accident in Shamshabad

Hyderabad:A 27-year-old government employee was killed in a hit-and-run mishap near Thondpally railway bridge in Shamshabad on Wednesday morning.

According to the complaint, victim, Budgani Yugendar, and another person from the village were returning to Almaipally after dropping an acquaintance, an Army employee, at the RGI Airport. At around 9.50 am, an unidentified vehicle allegedly approached from behind at a high speed and hit their bike on the right side before fleeing the spot.

Yugendar sustained severe injuries on his stomach and thigh and died on the spot. The rider suffered multiple bruises.

Shamshabad Inspector K. Narender Reddy said that efforts are on to identify the vehicle that hit the bike. “We are verifying CCTV footage and technical evidence to trace the driver who caused the accident and fled,” he said.

Police have booked a hit-and-run case and further investigation into the incident is underway.

Dec 12 last date for Inter attendance exemption fee

Hyderabad:The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education has extended the last date of attendance exemption fee to December 12 for private candidates with a late fee of `500.

Private candidates can pay the fee and submit the online application to appear for the IPE March 2026.

Candidates are advised to submit the application online within the extended time. No applications will be accepted after the above dates, TGBIE said.

6 arrested in realtor murder case

Hyderabad:Special teams of Rein Bazaar police claimed to have detected the sensational murder of a realtor with the arrest of six persons on Wednesday.

On December 3 night, the accused went to Chotapul, Yakutpura, armed with deadly weapons and stabbed the victim, Shaik Junaid Bin Mohammed Bharmos, 35, multiple times and fled the scene.

During interrogation, the accused confessed that they had hatched a criminal conspiracy to assemble unlawfully with deadly weapons (knives) and to murder the realtor over some property dispute, DCP south zone Kiran Khare said in a press meet.

Those arrested include prime accused Omer Bin Hamza Al Zabri, 35, son of Zafar Pahalwan, a rowdy sheeter, his co-accused Ali Bin Hamza Al Jabri, 31, another criminal of Rein Bazaar, Faisal Bin Habeeb Mohammed, 23, Mohammed Maqsood Ali, 28, Syed Asghar Ali, 20, and Mohammed Taher, 25. While others, Syed Raheem Ghori Shazib alias Raheem Ghori, 30, a suspect sheeter, Malik Bin Javid Al Jabri, 32, Zubair, Riyan Kulsum and Azar are absconding. Our teams are making efforts to arrest them, Kiran Khare said.

Police seized three daggers, two bikes used in the crime. They have been booked for murder and under the Arms Act in crime number 192 of 2025 under Section 103 read with 2(5) of the BNS Act and have been produced before the court.
