Khammam Couple Asks Municipal Commissioner to Name Baby After Surgery Help
The Commissioner happily accepted their request and named the baby Jashwika Sri.

Khammam: In a heartwarming gesture of gratitude, a couple asked the Khammam Municipal Commissioner, Abhishek Augustya, IAS to name their baby girl after his efforts helped arrange funds for her surgery. The Commissioner happily accepted their request, named the baby Jasvika Sri and wished her good health and a bright future.
Kaampati Rakesh and Madhavi were blessed with a baby girl on May 9, 2026. Twelve days later, the family came to know that the infant was suffering from a heart-related condition and required surgery.
The baby’s grandmother, Narsamma, who works as a sanitation worker at the Khammam Municipal Corporation, brought the matter to the attention of Municipal Commissioner.
Responding promptly, the Commissioner, with the help of Hridaya, a voluntary organisation along with Government support, arranged Rs.14 lakh required for the baby’s surgery. The operation was successfully performed on July 28, and the baby is now recovering.
The family became emotional while meeting the Commissioner during the Prajavani programme held on Monday. They recalled how the Commissioner had helped arrange the funds needed for the surgery and thanked him for extending support.
