Khammam: 6-Year-Old Boy Dies After Pencil Pierces Throat in Freak Accident

Nalgonda: A six-year-old UKG student, Medarapau Vihar, died in a tragic accident at a private school in Nayakangudem of Kusumanchi mandal in Khammam district on Wednesday.
The incident occurred around 3 pm when Vihar was returning to his classroom after using the toilet during the afternoon break. While running, he slipped and fell, and the pencil he was holding pierced his throat, causing severe bleeding.
School staff immediately rushed the child to a hospital in Khammam in a 108 ambulance. However, he succumbed to his injuries on the way. Doctors said the pencil had pierced the trachea, a vital respiratory organ, leading to heavy internal bleeding and breathing complications, which resulted in the child’s death. Police registered a case and are investigating the incident.
