Khairatabad Ganesh Utsava Panel Readies for 50 Lakh Devotees
Separate arrangements will be made for devotees, VIPs and VVIPs arriving from districts across the state and the country.

Hyderabad:Anticipating 50 lakh devotees at Khairatabad Bada Ganesh, the Khairatabad Ganesh Utsava Committee has made elaborate arrangements for the Navratri celebrations from Sept. 14 to 25. Separate arrangements will be made for devotees, VIPs and VVIPs arriving from districts across the state and the country.
Instructions were issued to ensure strict adherence to protocol whenever the Governor, Chief Minister, Union and state ministers, public representatives and senior officials visit the deity. A separate route will be arranged for VIPs and common people, and robust arrangements will ensure every devotee gets an opportunity for darshan, the committee said.
At a coordination meeting on Saturday, advance plans were drawn up keeping past experiences in mind. Directives covered police security, barricading, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, decorative lighting, sanitation, traffic control, loose wiring, road repairs, street lighting, cultural performances and continuation of daily rituals including Vedic chanting by scholars under the endowments department.
Police officials were instructed to implement traffic management plans in advance to prevent congestion by diverting vehicles to designated parking zones. Special measures are being put in place for prasadam distribution.
