KCR’s rule was like iPhone, Revanth’s is like Chinese phone

Kavitha alleged that after securing votes from Backward Class (BC) communities, Revanth Reddy misled them by ignoring their concerns and sidelining BC leaders

KARIMNAGAR(JAGTIAL): BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha criticised the Congress government during a press meet at the BRS office in Jagtial on Monday, comparing K. Chandrashekar Rao’s leadership to an iPhone and labelling A. Revanth Reddy a “Chinese phone” that fails to deliver.

Kavitha alleged that after securing votes from Backward Class (BC) communities, Revanth Reddy misled them by ignoring their concerns and sidelining BC leaders. She further condemned the Congress government’s handling of the BC movement, criticising Backward Class welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar for a lack of transparency in caste-based population data and questioning why crucial figures were being withheld.

“The BC movement will not cease until 42 per cent reservations are granted,” she declared, urging BC communities to mobilise for a movement akin to the Telangana struggle. Referring to 2014 statistics where Chandrashekar Rao acknowledged that 52 per cent of the population belonged to BC communities, Kavitha accused the Congress of underreporting their numbers and questioned why a bill for 42 per cent reservation in local bodies had not been introduced.

Kavitha also lambasted the government for withholding water from the Medigadda project over political differences with Chandrashekar Rao, calling on Revanth Reddy to immediately release water from the Kaleshwaram project to address irrigation issues. She warned that time would bring a fitting lesson to Reddy for his alleged discrimination against women and criticised Jagtial MLA Sanjay Kumar for defecting to the Congress, predicting that the party would lose its deposit in any upcoming by-election.
