KCR to Chair BRS Legislators Meet on Sept 6 at His Farmhouse

In a news release, the BRS said Chandrashekar Rao would hold the meeting at his Erravalli farmhouse on the afternoon of September 6, and that all the party MLAs and MLCs were expected to attend it.

Hyderabad:Former chief minister and leader of opposition in the Telangana Assembly K. Chandrashekar Rao has called for a meeting of the BRS Legislature Party on September 6, with the monsoon session of the Legislature set to begin on September 7.

In a news release, the BRS said Chandrashekar Rao would hold the meeting at his Erravalli farmhouse on the afternoon of September 6, and that all the party MLAs and MLCs were expected to attend it.

Though legislature party meetings are commonly held before or even during the Assembly sessions, this one assumes some significance in the wake of a demand from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy that Chandrashekar Rao should resign as the Leader of Opposition for not attending the sessions, a demand that has since been picked up by the Congress.

The two sides are also in the midst of a campaign with the BRS conducting a week long ‘1000 days of failures’ of the Revanth Reddy government, while the Congress is running a counter campaign ‘exposing’ how the then BRS government pushed the state into serious trouble and how the Congress government, despite the serious challenges, had kept its promises to the people and is providing a people friendly administration.
