KCR Birthday To Kick Off Busy Week for BRS
BRS gears up for KCR’s 71st birthday celebrations and a key February 19 meeting to strategize against the Congress government

Hyderabad: The BRS has planned an eventful week starting Sunday, February 17, as it ramps up efforts to challenge the Congress.
The party is preparing to celebrate its president and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s 71st birthday on Sunday. Former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav announced that special events would be held at Telangana Bhavan to mark the occasion. “A cake-cutting ceremony will be followed by the release of a CD showcasing Chandrashekar Rao’s life and achievements. Additionally, party leaders and cadres will organise special prayers for KCR at temples, mosques, and churches across the state,” Yadav told reporters on Friday.
Two days later, on February 19, Rao will meet party leaders to discuss recent developments in the State and chart a course to hold the Congress government accountable for its promises. “The agenda for the meeting will be announced a day before or on the day itself,” Talasani said. Party working president K.T. Rama Rao has already directed all those invited to attend without fail.
The BRS has been consistently attacking the Congress government, accusing it of failing to fulfill promises, particularly to farmers. The party has also criticised the BC caste census, calling it poorly conducted and demanding “a proper fresh survey”. Following the February 19 meeting, the BRS is expected to launch a series of protests against the government.
