KCR asks Centre to hold talks with Naxals
Calls Congress Villain No 1, criticises Gandhis

Hyderabad: BRS president and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday appealed to the Centre to suspend Operation Kagar, its crackdown on the Maoists at the Karregutta hills on the border of Telangana and Chhattisgarh, and invite them for talks. “It is highly undemocratic to carry out attacks to massacre Maoists. The government should call the Maoists for talks and find an amicable solution,” Rao said.
He was addressing a public meeting in Elkathurthy in Warangal district to mark the silver jubilee of the party. Rao said the Congress government had failed to deliver on promises which it made to people during the elections, showing its inefficiency.
“Except for making hue and cry, taking oath in the name of Gods and giving false promises, the Congress government has not done anything for the people except making 20 to 30 per cent commissions at every level,” Rao said. “Write down in your diaries. The BRS will once again form government.” He asked police not to create trouble and book false cases against BRS activists when they raised their voice against the government. He also down heavily on the government for not completing projects which are almost completed during the BRS rule.
He noted that this was the second time he was coming in public in the last one and a half years after the elections, Rao said he would reach out to masses from now onwards.
The BRS chief said he had continued the Aarogyasri scheme of the YSR government on merits and came down heavily on the Congress government for discontinuing the KCR Kits and other welfare schemes. “The Congress government is trying hard not to leave any trace of KCR rule and his schemes in the state. Can they do it,” he asked.
Claiming that he was pained at the state failing on all fronts and slipping in all rankings under the Congress, the former CM said it was not he who was accusing the government to running a ‘commission raj’. “It is contractors who held a protest in front of the office of finance minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, raiseing slogans about 20 to 30 per cent commission in all works.”
Calling Congress villain number 1 for the state, Chandrashekar Rao pointed out that its lopsided policies had led to huge losses for the real estate sector. “Illogical actions by HYDRAA have left the poor people without a roof over their heads,” he claimed. “Power cuts have increased as against 24-hour uninterrupted and quality power supply during the BRS rule.”
Rao claimed that the state had surpassed Punjab in crops during his tenure, IT exports had increased from `40,000 crore to `2.5 lakh crore, Mission Bhagiratha scheme provided drinking water to every household, and there was good law and order condition.
“The duplicate Gandhis promised to increase Rythu Bandhu, increase pensions for the aged, women and handicapped persons, promised farm loan waiver, 10 gram gold. But they ditched the people on all promises by claiming that they are unable to raise loans,” Rao said, and assured that he would reach out to people but not indulge in cheap gimmicks to dethrone the government.
