Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruti president K. Kavitha, who is set to launch her political party on April 25, has said that would will not be averse to contesting from either Siddipet or Gajwel in the next state elections.
In a clear indication that she has trained her sight on BRS party leadership – Siddipet is represented by T. Harish Rao, and Gajwel by her father and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao – Kavitha, who was unceremoniously sent out the of BRS, during an informal chat with reporters on Friday said that she would definitely contest from one of these two places if either of them ended up being reserved for women after the delimitation.
“There is an agreement between Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and a wily fox in Siddipet,” she said, repeating her earlier attacks targeting Harish Rao.
Kavitha said for her soon-to-be-launched party, the Congress would be the primary target. "The agenda will be announced on April 25, and we expect a lot of leaders to join after that,” she said, adding that the “BRS is currently is a sleep mode.”
Earlier, addressing a press meet, she slammed the government for letting private schools loot parents with exorbitant fees, warning that she will launch an agitation if no steps are taken to end this menace. “There are some 38 lakh students in around 12,000 private schools, and parents are facing 30 to 40 per cent sudden fee hikes. The Chief Minister holds the education portfolio. Why is he not taking any action on this?” she asked.
