Karimnagar Collector Sings for Girl Empowerment
Pamela Satpathy emphasised that education is the foundation of empowerment and encouraged girls to move forward with confidence and compete equally with men in every field.

Karimnagar: Demonstrating her commitment to the welfare and empowerment of girl children, District Collector Pamela Satpathy personally sang and released a new song titled “O Chinna Pichuka…Chinnari Pichuka” (O Little Sparrow…Dear Little Sparrow) during the International Girl Child Day celebrations.
Unveiling the video at the Collectorate auditorium in Karimnagar on Wednesday, the Collector urged girls to pursue success through perseverance, talent, and skill, rather than seeking sympathy.
She emphasised that education is the foundation of empowerment and encouraged girls to move forward with confidence and compete equally with men in every field. The song, a Telugu translation by Nandi Srinivas of a Hindi original penned by Swanand Kirkire, was dedicated to inspiring young girls. The launch featured a dance performance by students from the Government Primary School, Garshakurthy.
The event, organised by the Women Development and Child Welfare Department, centered on the theme of empowerment through merit. Collector Satpathy said that a girl’s true strength lies in her skills, confidence, and intelligence. Reflecting this spirit, the administration hosted a special ‘Miss Karimnagar’ contest, where participants were judged on their knowledge, talent, and capabilities rather than appearance. Winners and runners-up from various schools and colleges were felicitated by the collector.
Additional collector Ashwini Tanaji Wakade noted that anything is possible through hard work and determination, adding that education enables girls to transform their lives, excel in every sphere, and achieve financial independence. She encouraged girls to move ahead boldly and compete on par with men in all fields.
